Release Discriptions:
CELEBRITY MURDERS - The Island of Man Eating Rats 7"
This one sided four song seven inch is the debut from NYC's Celebrity Murders. It features ex-members of Milhouse/Indecision/C.R. and a ton of other bands they were all associated with. Three songs and a Life's Blood cover are on the 'playable' side and there's a hand screened image on the reverse. The band comprises a sound of their previous efforts, mixed in with a classic NYHC sound (like early SOIA and Life's Blood). Top all that off with the lyrics of the one and only Artie Phillie and you can't go wrong! (Chainsaw Safety #16)
ANODYNE/KEELHAUL - split 7"
Anodyne, formerly of Boston, currently of Brooklyn have been pounding away at it since 1997. Keelhaul, hailing from Cleveland, also formed in 1997. Both bands tour relentlessly. Both bands need to be seen live to be believed. Both bands' sonic assault collects all heavy and aggressive music that has come before and escort it into the black hell of the future. For this release, Anodyne contributed an original and a Throbbing Gristle cover. Keelhaul's track features guest vocals by Craw's McTighe. These songs are exclusive to this release. (Chainsaw Safety #13)
BLACK ARMY JACKET - 222 LP
This is the debut full length from the East Coast power violence legends. The band perfected their style with this release. This is also the recording debut for the drum machine known as Dave Witte! (Chainsaw Safety #8)
THE BLACK HAND - War Monger CD
This is Canada's The Black Hand debut full-length follow. Politically charged hardcore that's combines the ferocity of crusty hardcore with the heaviness thrashy metal with a raw, crustcore feel - fast, faw, and rough, with great breakdowns and rabid vocals. Though The Black Hand are definitely more metal than these bands, this will definitely appeal to fans of bands like Tragedy, From Ashes Rise, and Catharsis. Former members of the also incredible Ire. The cover art is an original composition from VOI VOD's Away. (Chainsaw Safety #12)
C.R. - discography CD
This is the long awaited discography of this much loved & short lived NY band. Fast, inspirational, & intense hardcore played without regret. It can be accurately compared to Infest musically, but taking it to the next level with their ideals. Includes their 'Compassionate Revolution' LP, debut 7", rare flexi disc, & much more. (Chainsaw Safety #11)
THE HORROR - First Blood 10"
The Horror make their recorded debut with their "First Blood" 10" on Chainsaw Safety Records. 14 songs of raw hardcore featuring members of the long-standing UK hardcore band Voorhees. The Horror employs a similar old Boston HC feel of Voorhees only tighening things up, producing a faster and heavier sound with vocals more along the lines of Void than Negative Approach. Limited edition red vinyl remaining pressing. (Chainsaw Safety #14)
LORD STERLING - Your Ghost Will Walk 7"
Combining the elements of Lungfish and Ignition on this debut release, Lord Sterling comdbine heavy rock structures with echoing vocals. Their style has pioneered countlees bands along the East Coast. This ten song cd is a testimony to a time that never existed and a memory that hasn't happened yet. (Chainsaw Safety #7)
SHOGUN - Enter The Equation 7"
Technical thrashmetalcore from Denver, CO. Scathing death vocals reminiscent of Kreator, while the music has that metal/chaoticore craziness going on, but with crazy finger-tapping guitar solos too. The band continued to make heir mark with future releases on Good Fellows Records. (Chainsaw Safety #10)
VOORHEES - Fireproof 7"
This UK band documents another 5 new blazing hardcore anthems. They shy away from their usual heavy Neg Approach sound a bit, but still keep the rough '80s US hc sound full on, as evidenced by the Agnostic Front cover. Gravelous vocals, & straightforward hard fast songs like "More Violence In Hardcore". (Chainsaw Safety #9)
